Multiple trips have been made to this outstanding summer vacation spot and we hope to return this year. Here are a few photos from our last trip... The trip went off without a hitch, in spite of some rather dire predictions as to the expected dive conditions, compliments of a Tropical Storm which preceded us by less than a week, and who dumped up to 19" of rain in the panhandle area of Florida. In fact, the visibility in the Gulf was less that 15' when we arrived, and much less than that the days before. (We were upset to say the least with 100 plus feet being the norm in the days prior to the storm!) No matter, we were scheduled to dive the always clear waters of VORTEX SPRINGS on the first day and really didn't think about the less than perfect conditions off shore. On day two of the trip however, things in the gulf had improved dramatically, and continued to improve throughout the week. By Thursday, we could easily look down through the 70-80' of depth and see the tops of each of our dive sites.
Following are a few photo's (compliments of Arty Potter) to help us remember the GREAT time had by all: Our thanks to Anne Kaskey, for all of her tireless efforts in putting this great trip together. Parting shot: I guess Arik and DV really showed Bart who the best Go-Cart drivers were. But then again, they had an unfair advantage....THEY COULD SEE!
