It all began in the Spring of 1990 when a new business was born! Being lifelong residents of the area, it became obvious to David and Kathy Vetter, that the need existed for a top quality and profession organization to fill the needs of area pool and spa owners, as well as potential future owners. 

With nearly a 20 year background in the area of water chemistry and commercial pool care, and after months of planning and hard work, HOT SPRING SPA & POOL SUPPLY CO. opened the doors of their new business on the corner of 7th and Chillicothe Street in Downtown Portsmouth, OH. 

Realizing that in order to be successful, the Vetter's knew that they would have to rise above the level of past as well as existing competitors.  They researched, sought after, and obtained many of the largest and finest names in the pool and spa industry.

Since that time, they have become the areas leading supplier of swimming pools, portable spas, and associated products. They pride themselves in the area of pool and spa service, being the areas only NSPI (National Spa and Pool Institute) affiliate. After several years and much hard work they achieved the coveted "CERTIFIED" rating from the NSPI. 

Hot Spring Spa & Pool Supply Co. specializes in all forms of in-ground pool refurbishment, including: vinyl liner, pump, filter, and heater replacement.  Additionally, they are the areas exclusive dealer for the best selling portable spas in America today... After enjoying two years of rapid growth at the original location, it became apparent that a larger building would be necessary to house this growing concern.  The following year, in 1995, HOT SPRING SPA & POOL SUPPLY CO. found themselves in a beautiful and quaint location in the Downtown "BONNEFIDDLE" district of Portsmouth. This new location, a historic building, was the former home to the original PORTSMOUTH FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Now, with room to spare, the idea was spawned for the new Dive Shop, to be called UNDERWATER WORLD SCUBA/SPORTS. Being an avid diver, Dave was frustrated by the fact that the closest place to even receive an air fill was over 50 miles away! 

UNDERWATER WORLD SCUBA/SPORTS is a full service facility, offering scuba sales, service, travel, and of course quality scuba education and training. The were successful in obtaining some of the major line in the industry, and today represent such outstanding companies as ,  , and

So today, HOT SPRING SPA, POOL & HEARTH PRODUCTS CO. and UNDER WATER WORLD SCUBA/SPORTS, co-exist under the same roof at their location in downtown Portsmouth, OH.
