Water Testing

Home Up

Probably the most important part of both spa and pool ownership and/or maintenance involves the regular and accurate testing of the water.  Water which is allowed to wander too far from accepted standards and perimeters can not only become uncomfortable and unhealthy, but can even become harmful and destructive to the support equipment and dangerous to the users.

While there are many different areas of water chemistry which can be problematic in pool and spa water, thankfully, only a handful need to be tested and monitored by residential users on a day to day basis. (Commercially however, most municipalities or governing authorities require that these same tests are performed as often as hourly to assure safe and sanitary water for its users.)

Whether you, as a residential pool/spa customer elect to test the water yourself, using the various choices available to you in the marketplace, or, decide to bring your water in to us for our professional testing and analysis, we hope that this section is helpful to you.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding water testing include the following:
bulletWhat are these tests which need to be made?
bulletWhat do they mean?
bulletWhat do I do if the test shows that an adjustment is needed?
bulletHow do I make the necessary adjustment?

In the following sections, we hope to answer these questions and many more.  If you have had or are having a particular problem, let us know and we will attempt to answer it ASAP.
