First of all, may we introduce our primary instructor and shop owner, Dave Vetter:

Dave holds numerous credentials in the area of diving, from numerous training agencies including: PADI, SSI, ANDI, IANTD, NAUI, NSS-CDC, and NASDS agencies. Dave has a wide range of diving experience and particularly enjoys cave diving and wreck diving when not instructing students.

COURSES AVAILABLE: (ANDI Inst.#576, PADI MSDT #93036, SSI #AOWI 21697)

OPEN WATER, ADVANCED/ADVANCED PLUS, MEDIC/FIRST AID, RESCUE DIVER, DIVE MASTER, and ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR. Also, in the way of Specialty courses available, he is also certified to instruct: ANDI LSU and CSU ALTITUDE SPECIALIST, BOAT DIVER, DEEP DIVER, DRIFT DIVER, DRY SUIT DIVER, ENRICHED AIR, EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, MULTI-LEVEL DIVER, NIGHT DIVER, SEARCH & RECOVERY, SHIPWRECK SPECIALIST, UNDERWATER HUNTER, and UNDERWATER NAVIGATOR.

 

JOE KASKEY

Joe is the newest certified O/W Instructor on staff at UnderWater World Scuba/Sports (ANDI #OWI4348). Joe has a real passion for the sport and is always ready to go diving whenever the opportunity presents itself, Joe has dove such places as COZUMEL, BELIZE, HONDURAS, the Bonne Terre Mine in Missouri.  Joe enjoys many aspects of technical diving and is certified for NITROX and is CAVERN certified.  In keeping it a family affair, Joe's "better half", Anne is also a diver, as is his son, Tommy.   Recently, Joes' youngest son Arick was also certified at age 11.

When not pursuing dive related interests, Joe is the owner of a Surveying and Engineering firm ATM CONSULTANTS, located at 2313 17th Street in Portsmouth, OH.

 

ARTY POTTER

Arty is blessed with the same passion for the sport as his buddy Joe.  Arty also enjoys technical diving, is certified to dive NITROX and has earned his CAVERN card through IANTD   Arty has been an indispensable part of our OPEN WATER program as a DIVE MASTER and plans to continue on with INSTRUCTOR Level Training in the near future.   Arty's son, Corey, and daughter Carlie are also a certified divers, which gives him a readily accessible dive buddies.

 

 

SCOTT PENICK

Scott received his initial training as a diver in the US Navy. He was assigned to the USS Baton Rouge as an electrical operator and performed the additional duties aboard as a diver. He was hired in 1991 as a firefighter in Ashland Kentucky and has recently been promoted to the rank of Captain with the department. In the past 2 years Scott has completed the PADI Dive Master Course (#DM-180331), the YMCA Asst. Instructor course and became certified as a YMCA scuba Instructor in 2002 (#2389200024). Scott also organized the Ashland Fire Department’s first Dive Team and serves as the team’s Dive Master.  Scott is actively teaching the SCUBA program at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.

 

DEAN DIXON

Dean was certified as a PDIC Instructor in 2005 and has been extremely active on the local dive scene since that time.  Dean is a full time EMT and also teaches EMT courses at SHAWNEE STATE UNIVERSITY when to diving.  Dean's main diving interests include shipwrecks and Dean and his best Dive buddy, Scott, have set as a goal to dive every known U-Boat on the North American Continent.
